Children's Dentistry in Glendale WI
At Sladky Family Dental, we are proud to provide dental care to many families who started their dental care with Drs. Domer and Newton, with some dating back almost 50 years!
We welcome patients of all ages to our practice, and we love to see children. We believe the dental office can be less intimidating when your family has their check-ups and cleanings together. Not to mention, it’s more convenient for you.
Our goal is to create a positive environment for your children from their very first visit, and as a father of two young boys, Dr. Sladky understands the anxiety you may feel when bringing your child to the dental office. Whether their visit is a routine check-up and cleaning or you're coming to see us due to pain or trauma, our team strives to make your visit as smooth and pleasant as possible.
We take this very seriously since a negative early experience may cause unnecessary fear of the dentist in the future.
Your Child’s First Visit
Dr. Sladky likes to see children for their first visits starting at the age of one. This allows us to spend time acclimating your child to the office and the instruments we use.
We’ll examine their teeth and monitor their oral development so we can catch any concerns early on. Your child’s comfort is our top priority, and we will always ensure that they feel at ease before we move on to the next procedure.
A Kid-Friendly Environment
At Sladky Family Dental, you’ll notice right away that our office is very child friendly. The waiting room is stocked with toys and books to keep your child busy while they wait. We even have a stuffed animal friend to accompany your child to the dental chair if they are feeling anxious.
While sitting in the chair, which has been optimized for his or her smaller size, your child will have the chance to watch a favorite television show or movie. If they feel anxious, nitrous oxide may be recommended to make treatment procedures less stressful for them. Nitrous is a breathable gas that is safe for your child and can help them relax and feel at ease during their appointment.
Additional Services for Children
As your child gets older, Dr. Sladky may recommend additional services such as fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help build and protect small teeth. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that can help strengthen your child’s teeth. Dental sealants cover your child’s molars and other important chewing surfaces with a protective coating that guards against tooth decay and cavities.
If your child participates in sports, Dr. Sladky is happy to discuss and recommend the best protective wear for their needs. A mouth guard can help protect your child’s teeth and mouth from injuries that can occur during sports.
We look forward to meeting your child and building a relationship with them! Contact Sladky Family Dental today to schedule your child’s next appointment.
